Psychodrama | Film

Isla Du Pré, an actress in her 40's, becomes embroiled in the killing of an auteur theatre director whilst rehearsing an adaptation of Hitchcock's Psycho.

Cool, witty and told exclusively from Isla's point of view, our film is an insider’s take on what it means to be middle-aged and female in an industry still dominated by men and captivated by youth and stardust.

With nods to comedy, horror and thriller genres, coloured by an eclectic score traversing indie rock and Disney animation, and in constant dialogue with Hitchcock’s iconic picture, Psychodrama transmutes into a kind of delicious and life-affirming revenge drama.

As Janet Leigh said about her performance as Marion: “It’s a grasp. A desperate grasp for life.”
